Android users to get Netflix streaming apps

From early 2011 onwards, a bunch of Android users will be able to enjoy Netflix streaming apps on their smartphones just like those who own iPhones and Windows Phone 7 smartphones, although this will be limited to select Android-powered phones only. According to Netflix product development guru Greg Peters, "the lack of a generic and complete platform security and content protection mechanism available for Android” is the main stumbling block that has has prevented the company from expanding to the rapidly growing smartphone platform. Having said that, Netflix is also working to churn out a standard, platform-wide solution although there is no deadline on when that would be complete and available to the masses.
